For various reasons I don't want to get into, not every design is available at each store. So some artwork is exclusive.

Hello. How is everyone?

As far as art goes, I've been slow to create new things this year. I do tons of drawings, but mostly they are just examples for the art classes I teach. Most of them wind up being generic looking anime characters in a generic looking anime style, just to show the basics of how to draw anime. Literally I have so many pages of these drawings that I've had to throw a lot away. But as far as actual good finished Illustrations, I don't have a lot! Sometimes health concerns got in the way, like shoulder and back pain, and other times I just didn't feel up to it. Until now!

I've been experimenting with my art style to create something that is truly unique to me and combines everything I like to do. Thick, chunky lines, anime inspired cel-shading, funky proportions, and hand crafted texture. All done in Clip Studio Paint with my own custom brushes that I made myself. Do all of these things mix?

Doing these pieces has got me pumped! I am energized to make more. I just don't have a name for it yet! I'd like to call it something so that people can ask for it specifically. I'm just calling it "Ninjatron Style" until I can come up with something better. Any ideas?

I want to do more characters and scenes and see what else I can do in this style. So I am opening up commissions with the hopes that I'll get the chance to draw more characters based on what people want to see. I don't have all the details on my commissions page updated to show this style yet, but you can take a look there to get an idea of what it'll cost. Or just get in touch personally!

TFcon was supposed to be this month, but once again it has to be postponed. It is what it is, but we can still make the best of the situation by having fun online!

I'll be doing another Virtual Convention Panel online via my Twitch Channel this Sunday! It's called "Beyond Transformers" and it's about the toy robots from Japan that were used to originally create the Transformers brand, as well as the other related robot toys, some of which came later! There's some weird, wild, and obscure stuff in this panel, and I'm sure all fans of Transformers, robots, anime, tokusatsu, and sci-fi are going to love it. I finished my self imposed Super Deformuary challenge last month, but only because I had to change to a more modest goal after hurting my arm. I only got to finish half of the number of characters I wanted to. But hey, you gotta roll with the punches life throws at you. 14 drawings is still not too bad. I had hoped to gain a bigger audience though, so I'm a little bit disappointed that didn't really happen.

I need to slow down on art for a bit to let myself heal up. I have opened up to some specific commissions though, but I will eventually get back into the swing of things and take more commissions later. Let me know if you are interested. At any rate, no more month long art challenges for awhile!

I'm doing this self-imposed art challenge!

I'm drawing Super Deformed character art all February long, and YOU can help! Reply with suggestions for characters for me to draw. I will be presenting yet another Virtual Transformers convention panel LIVE on my Twitch channel on Sunday September 6th, starting at 5:30 PM EST. This is the weekend the now cancelled TFcon was rescheduled for.

This will be a newly revised version of "How Transformers Changed Around the World", the panel I first presented at TFcon in 2018. This panel was a big hit, but there was a ton of content that I couldn't include due to time constraints. This time, I won't have to worry about that! There will be plenty of new things added to the presentation as I go through the multiple interesting things that happened to the Transformers brand when it was brought over to other countries like Brazil, Mexico, Germany, and yes, even Canada!

The virtual panel I did in July was a big success. Lots of people came by and everyone seemed to enjoy it. Let's keep that going for just a little while longer!

Unlike other virtual convention panels you may have seen this summer, my panel will be presented LIVE, not prerecorded, and there will not be any YouTube or VOD to watch later.

On Sunday July 12, 2020, the weekend that TFcon was original scheduled for before being postponed until September, I will be doing my best to bring a bit of convention magic to the online world as I will be presenting “Japanese Franchises that Influenced Transformers” live to my Twitch channel. It’s a panel that traces the earliest beginnings of modern Japanese popular culture, how robots became such a popular subject, and how it all eventually lead up to the creation of what we know today as Transformers.

I first presented this panel at TFcon live in 2016. It’s an idea that I had for a long time, as the history of Japanese animation, films, and TV Shows is something that I love to research and talk about, and Transformers is a part of that. I was so incredibly nervous going into the presentation, not because of speaking in front of an audience (that’s the fun part), but rather because I was scared of running out of time. I managed to get though it all with a whopping 5 minutes to spare. Now, being online on my very own Twitch channel, I don’t have to worry about that. I’ll be going as long as it takes! Which is perfect because I’m also adding some new content to the panel for this presentation.

Everyone is welcome, even if you’re not a part of the usual TFcon crew or have never been to a Transformers or anime show before. You don’t even need to have a Twitch account to watch, but you will need an account to chat. I won’t be interacting with the chat during the presentation itself, and all notifications and redemptions will be turned off during that stretch of time. But we’ll have a brief moment to chill from 5:30pm EST before I start the panel at 6, and then a Q&A session afterwards, and I’m looking forward to that.

Should be a fun time. It won’t be the same as hanging out with everyone at TFcon, but it’ll be a good way to celebrate the things we still love even while quarantined.

I hope everyone is staying safe out there. This whole pandemic thing has certainly put a monkey wrench into everyone's plans, but as far as day-to-day life goes, mine hasn't changed a whole lot. There's not much to do around where I live and I don't get out a whole lot anyway! But it's fine, I'd rather stay in and draw and play games and stuff. I was unfortunately pretty sick when it all started, but that was just a coincidence. I'm using the time to try some new styles and get back into doing traditional art more often.

I've managed to get a few commissions and do some fun projects and challenges. One of the really cool things I did was the artwork for June's Dwelling of the Duels, which I think people here are going to interested in seeing. I'm free for commissions now, but I'm also think that I need to change up the way I do things and the style that I work in, so if you want something from me, it might be best to get on it now.

I will be doing the #SixFanarts Challenge, starting on my Twitch stream this Wednesday (April 8th) at around 10 pm EST. I need some suggestions of who to draw! I'll be picking from all the suggestions before I start drawing, and I'll be doing only one character per franchise while leaning towards characters I've never drawn before. I don't take requests often, so this is your chance.

There have already been a number of suggestions, some of which are pretty interesting and others I've never heard of (so I'm not that inclined to pick), but I still need more! You can reply right here and I'll consider them, or you can show up on my stream and request there. If I get way more than six that I would like to draw, I'll do another round!
